About the ACCAC

The mission of the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC) shall be the administration of intercollegiate athletics among its members. The ACCAC is comprised of 17 two-year member colleges that provide intercollegiate athletics. The conference provides competitive sports opportunities for students in conjunction with academic support for achieving success in higher education. The conference has a strong tradition of academic and athletic prowess on a regional and national level.

Since the inception of the conference, expediential growth has occurred in the number of new schools in the conference, the overall number of participants, and the increase of participation among women and ethnic minorities. Although great diversity exists among member institutions with respect to size and geographic location, the common thread that connects each to the conference is the sense of purpose to servant leadership and stewardship for the holistic development of student-athletes. This commitment is evidenced at every level from the coaching staff, athletic directors, athletics staff, athletics programs, and athletics departments. These visionary leaders confirm the value of athletic programming in meeting their college's missions by serving the community, engendering a diverse population, and providing access and opportunities for students to receive a college education.

The ACCAC is affiliated with Region I of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). The Region has documented historical strength in athletic achievement and is recognized as one of the leaders within the organization. The member colleges are historically recognized for academic achievement as recipients of the awards given by the NJCAA Academic Achievement program and the National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) Scholar-Athlete Program. Each year member schools vie for placement in the NATYCAA Daktronics Cup, awarded in recognition of their collective achievement in athletic excellence. Since its inception, one or more ACCAC member colleges have ranked within the Daktronics Cup top 10. Without question, the ACCAC can claim the title of CHAMPION, for its distinguished service to students, by helping them aspire to their intellectual and athletic potential.
