Three ACCAC XC Teams Compete Over the Weekend

The Central Arizona and Mesa cross country teams traveled to Riverside, CA, to compete in the UCR Highlander Invitational while Paradise Valley competed in the Drews/Neubauer Invitational in West Salem, WI.

The Vaqueros edged out the Thunderbirds in the men's race, 339-352, to finish 12th and 13th overall.

Yotuel Garcia was the top T-Bird to cross the finish line, as he was 24th overall out of 276 finishers with a personal-best time of 24:23.3 on the 8000-meter course. Julian Campos was the first Vaquero to cross the finish line, as he was 38th with a PB of 24:42.1.

In the women's race, the Vaqueras were 15th overall with 517 points. Kate Brockman of Mesa was 62nd overall out of 276 finishers with a PB of 21:44 on the 6000-meter course. Beatrice Keditukei was 84th with a PB of 22:16.9.

The Pumas men's team was fifth overall in the Jim Drews Invitational with 174 points and their women's team was 23rd overall with 665 points in the Tori Neubauer Invitational.

Gilbert Olivas was third overall out of 424 finishers with a PB of 24:35.4 on the 8000-meter course. Jazmin Estrada was 45th overall out of 364 finishers with a PB of 23:51.1 on the 6000-meter course.

The ACCAC and NJCAA Region I Championships are up next on October 29th at the campus of Central Arizona College in Coolidge.
