Central Arizona placed 17 and Mesa 20th among the men at the UC—Riverside Highlander Invitational cross country meet and those two were neck-and-neck in the women's division, taking 18th and 19th places respectively in the mostly NCAA Division I races.
CAC's men were led by Raphael Kitur who covered the 8K course in 24:40.9 good for 26th place among 290 runners. MCC had Caden Resendez in 46th place, clocked in 24:57.1. Glendale was represented by three runners with Hayder Al-Anizi leading the way with a 258th place with a time of 29:00.5.
On the women's side, Mesa's Makayla Englehardt was the top ACCAC finisher, taking 79th place among 262 runners in 22:36.9 for the 8K course. The Vaquera's Makena Thornton was123rd in 23:19.1. In addition, Glendale entered three runners with Melissa Rivera 244th with a time of 27:19.3.
Next up for some ACCAC teams will be the Arizona Christian Invitational which will be held Saturday in Glendale.
