Mesa's Brianna Anderson was named the NJCAA DII Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week for the week of August 18-24.  Anderson helped the Thunderbirds to an upset win of Scottsdale to open the season, recording 41 digs and 11 assists for the double-double as the Thunderbirds beat the Fighting Artichokes 3-2.

Anderson becomes the first ACCAC player in any sport to win National Player of the Week honors in the 2024-25 ACCAC athletic season.

Anderson is a freshman from Mesa, Ariz. and attended Skyline High School.
