ACCAC Volleyball Players of the Week October 1-7

DI Volleyball

Offensive: Evelyn Trivino – Arizona Western – Trivino tallied 84 assists in 11 sets played last week, helping the Lady Matadors to a pair of wins in a three-match week. Trivino started the week with 20 assists in a 3-0 win over Pima before recording 38 in a 3-2 loss to Glendale. The sophomore from Colombia finished the week with 26 assists in a 3-0 win over Yavapai on Friday.

Defensive: Kadence Moore – Eastern Arizona – Moore had 38 digs last week to help the Gila Monsters to a pair of wins. Moore opened the week with 27 digs in a 3-2 win at Mesa before recording 11 digs in just three sets in the Gila Monsters’ 3-0 win over Pima at home. The 27 digs against Mesa matched a season-high.

DII Volleyball

Offensive: Gracelyn Nez – Glendale – Nez tallied 29 kills in a week that saw the Gauchos win two matches, including a win over No. 16 ranked DI Arizona Western. Nez kicked off the week with 13 kills in the five-set thriller over the Lady Matadors on Wednesday before finishing the week with 16 kills in a 3-0 win over Phoenix.

Defensive: Sofia Cortesio – Glendale – The Gauchos swept the DII Volleyball awards with Cortesio taking home defensive honors after recording 38 digs in a pair of wins. Cortesio had 21 digs in the Gauchos’ upset win over Arizona Western and ended the week with 17 digs in a straight-sets win over Pima.
