Mesa finishes fifth, Vakasioula second, as NJCAA Division I women's golf concludes

Mesa had its best team finish since 2015 by taking fifth place, and All-American Alyzzah Vakasioula grabbed second place individually, as the NJCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship came to an end Thursday.

The T-Birds closed with their best round of the tournament, a 317, to climb one spot to fifth place.

Vakasioula improved on her 2021 showing, when she took fifth place, with a 72-hole total of 292. She thus earns first team All-American honors for the second time.

Pima's Maria Harrouch climbed into eighth place with a closing round 74, her best of the event, for a 308 total for an eighth place finish. That earns her second team All-American honors. She played as an independent.
