Central Arizona women sixth, Mesa men 11th, top ACCAC finishers at NJCAA DI track and field championships

  Central Arizona's women placed sixth and Mesa men were 11th to lead ACCAC efforts at the NJCAA Division I Men's and Women's Track and Field Championships Saturday.

  CAC scored 52 points in the women's competition. Mesa finished 14th with 17 points. Pima was 15th with 16 points and Paradise Valley tied for 23rd with seven points. Among the men, Mesa finished with 30 points, Paradise Valley tied for 12th with 23, Pima tied for 17th place with 18 points and Central Arizona tied for 22nd with 12 points.

  Conference athletes won four individual national championships and set one national record. CAC's women won two with Juvanna Cornette capturing the 100 in 11.42 and Princess Kara taking the discus at 185-4, also an NJCAA national record. Jaida Olson, of Pima, won the pole vault with a leap of 11-4 ¼. Among the men, Mesa's Makel Hubbard won the decathlon with 6766 points.
