Arizona Western College Lady Matadors Softball sophomore Jessie Garcia was honored at the NJCAA DI Softball Player of the Week for the week of March 24-30 after going 10-for-11 from the plate with 16 runs batted in.

Garcia went 10-for-11 in four games, hitting a home run in each of the four games while smacking two grand slams. Garcia drove in 16 runs and scored nine runs in the four wins. 

In the circle, Garcia struck out seven hitters in two starts, helping the Lady Matadors to sweeps of GateWay and Mesa.

Garcia finished the month by driving in 25 of her 32 total runs in March and homering five times during the month.
