Jolissa Valdez – Eastern Arizona –Valdez struck out 17 batters over 11 innings in a pair of shutouts to help the Gila Monsters to two wins last week. Valdez allowed just two hits and struck out 10 batters in a 12-0 win over GateWay before finishing the week with seven strikeouts in five innings while allowing just a hit in five innings.

Lauren Newlin – Central Arizona – Newlin went 6-for-13 with two doubles and five runs batted in to help Central Arizona go 3-1 in four games last week. Newlin put together a pair of two-hit games, going 2-for-4 in the opener against Chandler-Gilbert with a double and 2-for-2 with three runs batted in in a 9-1 win over GateWay..

DII Pitcher

Sydney Haake – Phoenix – Haake threw 10 innings, picking up a pair of wins for the Bears last week. Haake started the week by allowing one run on three hits in four innings, striking out three batters in a 9-1 win over Scottsdale. Haake finished the week with five strikeouts in six innings, allowing two earned runs in an 8-3 win over Yavapai.

Asia Jones – Phoenix – Jones had nine hits in four games, going 9-for-12 with four home runs and nine runs batted in to help the Bears to four wins. Jones went 3-for-4 with two home runs and four runs batted in, in a 15-3 win over Scottsdale and put together another three-hit game in the finale with Yavapai, going 3-for-4 with a homer and three runs batted in.
