Yavapai Wins NJCAA D1 National Championship — Yavapai captured the 2009 NJCAA Division I National Championship with a 2-1 victory over Wallace State/Hanceville. Jenna Rodriguez allowed just three hits and struck out four in route to the victory. Brittany Tuck's 2-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning sealed the come-from-behiind victory. | more |

Phoenix College Falls in National Championship Game — The streak ended at five National Championships as the Bears fell 4-1 to Heartland in the championship game. | more |

PC Bears Top Seed & Host for Region I D2 Tournament —The Bears, ranked #1 in the nation, will host the NJCAA Region I Division II Championship Tournament on May 1-2. #2 Glendale will face #3 Mesa in game one while #4 Chandler-Gilbert will square off against the host at 12:30 pm. | Region I D2 Playoffs |

PC's Goodman Repeats, Western's Shamblin Tabbed Top Coach — Phoenix College's Lacy Goodman has been selected the NJCAA Region I Softball Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. Coach Angel Shamblin is the Region I Coach of the Year after leading Arizona Western to a 35-12-1 record. Yavapai dominated the NJCAA All-Region I Division 1 Team with five selections, while #1 ranked Phoenix placed seven on the Division 2 Team. | All-NJCAA Region I Teams |

Yavapai's Stangl & Workman, PC's Goodman & Robles Are ACCAC's Weekly Best — Caitlin Stangl has been selected the ACCAC D1 Batter of the Week for the second time this season while Yavapai teammate Audrey Workman is the D1 Pitcher of the Week for the fifth time this season. #1 Phoenix College was paced this past week by the ACCAC D2 Batter of the Week Lacy Goodman and the ACCAC D2 Pitcher of the Week Brianna Robles. | more |

Chiquete, Corbin, Tamayo Earn ACCAC Honors — Aubri Chiquete of Yavapai hit 8-for-10 last week to earn the ACCAC DI Batter of the Week honor, while South Mountain's Katie Corbin had a pair of doubles and four RBI to take the D2 Batter of the Week honor. Hall, Goodman, Tamayo ACCAC's Weekly Best — Pima's Logan Hall and Phoenix's Lacy Goodman are the ACCAC Division I and Division II Batters of the Week, respectively. Central Arizona's hurled a 4-0 record, allowing just one earned run in 26 innings and striking out 21 batters to earn the ACCAC Division I Pitcher of the Week honor. | more |

Rodriguez, Workman Lead Yavapai to Gain Honors — In 2008, Jenna Rodriguez was the ACCAC's first Pitcher of the Week. As a sophomore in 2009, she is the first ACCAC Batter of the Week after helping Yavapai to a 6-0 record. Freshman hurler Audrey Workman won three games on the week for the Roughriders to earn Pitcher of the Week honors. | more |

2009 ACCAC Master Schedule Released — The 2009 ACCAC softball master schedule has been released. Most of the ACCAC squads will take the field for the first time this season on January 30th. | View Complete Schedule |
