Ten ACCAC players advance, five through byes, on first day of NJCAA men's tennis

  ACCAC players advanced in tenmatches on day one of the NJCAA Division I Men's Tennis Championship, however five of those were byes.

  At the end of the first day Paradise Valley is tied for ninth place with six points and Mesa is tied for 13th with four points.

    The players that won singles matches were Beto Carlon and Arutro Socias Silva, of Mesa, at No. 1 and No. 3 respectively, as well as Paradise Valley's Bob DeVries at No. 3 and Nebojsa Buha at No. 5.

  In doubles, PVCC had a winner at No. 2 as Branden Telle-Marty and Franco Toscano teamed for a victory.

  Four singles players and one doubles team received byes.

  Play continues Tuesday with second round matches for the winners and consolation matches for those that lost.
