Arizona Western and Pima are both headed to the NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship tournament.
AZW earned its ticket by virtue of a 3-1 victory over Salt Lake in District play, while Pima, the defending national champions, were added by an at-large bid. Western will play in Pool A against Illinois Central on Nov. 19 and Louisburg on Nov. 20. PCC meets Eastern Florida State on Nov. 18 and Essex Co., on Nov. 19 in Pool D. The event is being held in Tyler, Texas.
The Matadors traveled to Salt Lake and built a 2-0 halftime lead before expanding the margin to 3-0 with less than 13 minutes to play. Michele Signorelli tallied both first half goals and Jesus Chillion added the clincher in the 78th minute.
