OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Glendale quarterback Jeff Kidd threw for 252 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions as the Gauchos downed Pima 61-28. The 6’4”, 205-pound sophomore from Sprague, Oregon, completed 16 of his 31 passes and also picked up 30 yards on six carries. Kidd now has 12 touchdowns on the season while being picked off only once.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Sophomore linebacker Ryan Tyler had ten tackles, including four solo, as Arizona Western clinched at least a share of the WSFL regular season crown with a 37-7 win over Mesa. Tyler, 6’2” and 210 pounds from Indianapolis, Indiana, had three tackles for loss including a sack and forced a fumble.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Glendale’s Terry Juniel, a 5’9” 175-pound wide receiver, returned two punts on Saturday, taking both of them for touchdowns. A freshman from Valley Vista High School in Surprise, Arizona, Juniel had TD returns of 83 and 73 yards as the Gauchos beat Pima 61-28. He also had three receptions for 30 yards in the game. Juniel now has four punt returns for touchdown this season and an eye-popping 35.8 average yards per return, both tops in the nation.
