OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Wide receiver Delvon Carpenter (Houston, Tex.) caught the game-winning touchdown pass in overtime to give New Mexico Military a 23-20 win over Snow and lift the Broncos into a first place tie with Arizona Western and Scottsdale. Carpenter, 6’0” 180-pound sophomore, totaled seven receptions for 139 yards and two touchdowns, including a 61-yard TD just before the break which gave NMMI a 14-7 halftime lead.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Mitch Fischer (Ironwood Ridge HS, Tucson, Ariz.) had two interceptions, including one which he returned for an 80-yard touchdown, to lead the Pima defense in a 33-17 win over Glendale. Pima’s defense was prolific, recording nine interceptions on the day. The sophomore safety was in on seven tackles, three solo and four assist, and had a sack for seven yards.  

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Snow College’s Nick Porebski averaged 46.2 yards on five punts as the Badgers fell to New Mexico Military, 23-20 in overtime. Porebski, a 5’10” freshman from Melbourne, Australia, placed two punts inside the 20-yard line and had one touchback. On the season, Porebski is fourth nationally with an average of 45.8 yards per punt, and 10 of his 30 kicks have been inside the opponent’s 20.
