Scottsdale Takes NJCAA Region I Coach & Offensive Player of the Year Awards, Pima's Pimental Selected Defensive Player of the Year — After leading Scottsdale to the WSFL title and #5 National Ranking, Coach Ken Giovando and quarterback Dexter Hill took home top NJCAA Region I honors. Pima's Mickey Pimental paced a tough Storm defense that ranked third in the WSFL to earn the Region's top Defensive award. More

All-WSFL & All-NJCAA Region I Teams Announced — Dixie State leads all porgrams with nine members on the All-WSFL teams while Scottsdale leads the way on the All-Region squads with eight. All-WSFL Teams NJCAA-All-Region

Tupe Tabbed WSFL Defender of the Week — Dixie State's Misovala Tupe led a Rebel defense that held New Mexico Military to just 10 points to earn WSFL Defensive Player of the Week honors. More

Weekly Offensive Award Goes to Top Scorer, Receiver — The final WSFL Offensive Player of the Week Award has been split between Dixie State's JT Diederichs and Eastern Arizona's Davian Bingham. More

Scottsdale Captures 2004 WSFL Crown, Will Host Valley of the Sun Bowl — Scottsdale ended the regular season with a 28-23 win over Mesa to capture the WSFL title qith an 8-1 League record and 9-1 mark overall. The Artichokes will host the Valley of the Sun Bowl on December 4 at 2:00 p.m. againt an opponent to be named.

WSFL's Top Defensive Player for the Week is Mesa's Runyan — Todd Runyan helped the Mesa Thunderbirds to a 33-25 victory over Pima with 11 tackles, an interception, and a fumble recovery. More

Hill Earns Second WSFL Offensive POW Award — Scottsdale's Dexter Hill earned his second WSFL Offensive Player of the Week award of the season after leading the Artichokes to victory with 265 yards passing and three touchdowns. More

Scottsdale's Serena Selected NJCAA Defensive Player of the Week —After leading the Scottsdale defense to a shut-out against Phoenix, Christian Serena was selected by the NJCAA as the National Defensive Player of the Week. More

WSFL Offensive Player of the Week Leads Glendale to Upset —Johnny Lopez rushed for 242 yards and a touchdown to lead Glendale to a 45-35 upset victory over Dixie State. More

Serena Tabbed WSFL's Top Defensive Player for October 30th —Scottsdale's Christian Serena led an Artichoke defense that blanked Phoenix 57-0 and moved his squad to the top of the WSFL standings. More

WSFL Offensive POW Honor Goes to JT Diederichs — Dixie State's JT Diedrichs earned the WSFL Offensive Player of the Week award after leading the Rebels to a 49-21 victory over Eastern Arizona with 207 yards rushing. More

Farley Makes it 2 in a Row for NMMI Defense — New Mexico Military's Mizraim Farley has been selected the WSFL Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending October 24t. NMMI's Zachary Bowman earned the same honor on eweek earlier. More

Bowman, Hill Continue the Year of the WSFL for National Honors —Zachary Bowman of New Mexico Military earned the NJCAA Defensive Player of the Year honor while Scottsdale's Dexter Hill grabbed the NJCAA Offensive Player of the Year honor. There two National Player of the Week honors are the seventh and eighth such honors for the WSFL in 2004 and the third time this season that the WSFL has garnered the Offensive and Defensive National Players of the Week in the same week. More

Scottsdale QB Passes Way to WSFL Offensive Honor — Dexter Hill threw for over 300 yards and accounted for three Artichoke scores in a 30-27 upset over #4 ranked and previously unbeaten Pima to earn the WSFL Offensive Player of the Week award. More

Bowman Leads NMMI in Shutout Victory to Earn WSFL Honor —New Mexico Military's Zachary Bowman was tabbed the WSFL Defensive Player of the Week after leading Broncos defense in a 52-0 sgutout victory over Eastern Arizona. More

Scottsdale Surprises NJCAA #4 Pima — Scottsdale improved to 6-1 on the season and made it a three-way log jam atop the WSFL standings with a 30-27 upset of #4 ranked Pima. (more)

Pima Moves Up in Rankings, Pimental Earns NJCAA Defensive Honor — Pima jumped from #6 in the NJCAA polls to #4 after the Storm's 27-7 victory over previously #2 ranked Dixie State. In the victory, Mickey Pimental had 11 tackles to lead the way to victory. He was rewarded with the NJCAA's National Defensive Player of the Week honor. (more)

#6 Pima Proves Too Much for #2 Dixie State in Showdown — In the key matchup of the week in the NJCAA, Pima defeated Dixie State 27-7 in a meeting of national powers and undefeated programs. Pima improved to 6-0 overall and 4-0 in the WSFL with the impressive victory over the Rebels. (more)

Gehrts Leads Glendale to Win, Earns WSFL Offensive Player of the Week Award — Glendale Quarterback Nick Gehrts threw four touchdowns and over 200 yards to lead the Gauchos past Eastern Arizona. More

WSFL Selects Co-Defensive Players of the Week in NMMI's Isaac and Pima's Pimental — New Mexico Military's Danzel Isaac and Pima's Mickey Pimental have been selected the WSFL's Co-Defensive Players of the Week for the week ending October 10. Isaac posted 12 tackles, including a pair of sacks, while Pimental had 11 tackles and recovered a fumble to help Pima remain undefeated. More

WSFL Sports Ofensive & Defensive National Players of the Week —Dixie State's Danny Southwick and New Mexico Military's Tyler Donaldson earned the NJCAA Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards respectively for the week ending October 4th. More

Undefeated Showdown Set for October 9th — After five weeks of the 2004 season, Dixie State and Pima are each 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the WSFL. This coming Saturday, October 9th, one team will lose its undefeated status as Dixie State travels to Pima. Dixie is currently the top-ranked squad in the nation, while Pima ranks 11th.

Dixie State QB Tabbed Offensive Player of the Week Following 500+ Yard Day — Danny Southwick threw for over 500 yards and recorded five touchdowns to keep #1 ranked Dixie State undefeated in five outings. More

Donaldson Tackles WSFL Defensive Player of the Week Award —Tyler Donaldson of New Mexico Military recorded 16 tackles to earn the WSFL weekly defensive honor. More

WSFL Honors for September 25th Go to Pima's Nunez and Snow's Bues — Pima's Johnny Nunez is the second straight Storm player to earn WSFL Defensive Player of the Week honors, while Landon Bues ran for 157 yards and a pair of TDs to take home the WSFL Offensive Player of the Week award. More

Collins, Rutledge Make it WSFL Sweep of NJCAA National Honors — Mesa's Austen Collins (Offensive) and Pima's Devin Rutledge (Defensive) earned the NJCAA National Player of the Week awards for the week ending September 21. More

Snow's Wallin, Pima's Smith Take First WSFL Weekly Honors —Quincy Wallin has been named the WSFL's Defensive Player of the Week, while Michael Smith earned Offensive Player of the Week honors. More

Three WSFL Squads Open 2004 with Week One Victories — Three teams -- Dixie State, Scottsdale and Pima opened the 2004 campaign with victories while three other had opening week games cancelled. Complete Results

Dixie State Selected Preseason #1 — Dixie State has been selected the 2004 Preseason #1 in the NJCAA as the Rebels return 15 starters and 31 letterwinners. Glendale is ranked 16th, while Arizona Western and Pima also received votes for the top-25. NJCAA Release
