ACCAC Baseball Players of the Week - Week 1

DI BASEBALL

PITCHER:  Ty Thompson – Yavapai – Thompson tossed five shutout innings to help the Roughriders to a 6-1 win over Central Arizona on Friday, recording six strikeouts and allowing just one hit as the Roughriders took two out of three to open the season.   

POSITION PLAYER: Liam Richards– Yavapai – Richards went 5-for-11 a double, a triple, and a home run while driving in six runs in the Roughriders' three-game set with the Vaqueros. Richards went 3-for-4 and was a single shy of the cycle in a 9-7 loss to Central Arizona in the series finale on Saturday.

DII BASEBALL

PITCHER:  Lucas Casey – Pima – Casey allowed one run without allowing a hit in five innings while striking out eight batters in an 8-7 win over College of Southern Idaho to help the Aztecs to a series sweep of the Golden Eagles.

POSITION PLAYER: Nolan Ganter– Pima – Ganter went 5-for-13 in four games over the weekend, doubling three times with a home run and driving in three runs. Ganter went 2-for-4 with a double and a home while batting in three in the Aztecs' 13-3 win in game three as the Aztecs swept Southern Idaho in the four-game set.
