After Eli Watson reached on an error to give the Matadors a 1-0 lead, Sergio DeCello tacked on the second run of the inning with a sacrifice fly before Nathan Houston lined a single to right to score Watson, putting the Matadors in front 3-0.

Arizona Western added two more runs in the eighth inning on a Houston sacrifice fly and a Luca Hoerger RBI single to bump the lead to 5-0.
