Harris scores 20 points in Women's Basketball's 75-54 loss to Dodge City

YUMA, Ariz. – The Arizona Western Lady Matadors Women's Basketball team (2-3) finished play in the Midland College Tip-Off Classic with a 75-54 loss to Dodge City (6-0) on Saturday afternoon at the Chaparral Center in Midland, Texas.

Dyvine Harris recorded her first 20-point game of her career in the loss on Saturday, scoring a game-high 20 points, shooting 4-for-7 from the three-point line.

After being outscored 27-20 in the first quarter, the Lady Matadors held Dodge City to 16 points and outscored the Conquistadors by four to trim the deficit to just three points at 43-40 at the end of the first half. Arizona Western scored two points in the third quarter, being outscored 21-2. The Lady Matadors held Dodge City to just 11 points in the fourth quarter but dropped their final game in Texas, 75-54.

Alynna Palacios grabbed a game-best 10 rebounds while scoring seven points in the loss while Alliance Ndiba had eight points and grabbed five rebounds.

The Lady Matadors are back in action on Friday, November 24, hosting New Mexico Junior College at 5:00 pm on the first day of the Chapman Automotive Thanksgiving Classic at the House Gymnasium. Tickets are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for seniors while Arizona Western College students get in free with their AWC ID.
