Phoenix College Softball Sweeps Gateway CC behind Alyssa Tinnin's Perfect Game
PC softball ladies took a doubleheader sweep of Gateway CC.The first game Sydnee Haake pitched a two hitter in a 7 to 1 victory with Katie Hofmann hitting a two run home run.

The second game Alyssa Tinnin pitched a perfect game in a 5 inning 14-0 win for the Bears. Alyssa was perfect just facing 15 batters with no hits, runs or walks given up with 5 k's. No Gateway batter was able to reach base during the 5 inning run rule effort by Alyssa and her teammates. Alyssa came off a 2 hit 8 k's pitching effort against Paradise Valley last week in a 7 inning complete game shutout. Alyssa has now pitched 12 complete innings of shutout ball. The Bears had 14 hits in 4 innings of offense led by Danitza Hernandez's 3 run home run and Riley Martens single home run.

Before the last two pitching performances, Alyssa came off a 4 week concussion protocol when she was hit in the head on 3/2 vs Pima CC. She just has been terrific since coming off this injury and handling all her adversity she came up against during those weeks.

PC is in first place in the ACCAC conference with a 18-2 record and an overall record 25-6 ranking number 11 in the NJCAA Division 2 Polls. The team has its goals still in place to hopefully host Div 2 Region 1 Playoffs with 18 conference games to go before playoffs.
