YUMA, Ariz. – The Arizona Western Lady Matadors Women's Basketball team (19-7, 15-4) couldn't overcome a cold shooting night, falling 63-48 to No. 16 ranked Eastern Arizona (24-3, 17-3) on Friday night at the House Gymnasium.

Alliance Ndiba led three Lady Matadors' players in double-figures, scoring 13 points and leading the team with nine rebounds in the loss.

Eastern Arizona jumped out to a 9-4 lead before the Lady Matadors closed the quarter on a 7-2 run, tying the game on a Dyvine Harris three-pointer before the buzzer. Eastern started the second quarter on a 5-0 run and pushed their lead to 18-11 but the Lady Matadors went on a 9-2 run to tie the game at 20-20 before Eastern hit a pair of free throws to send the game to halftime.

Just like they did in the two quarters prior, Eastern Arizona started the third quarter on a run, scoring the first six points and outscored the Lady Matadors 23-15 in the third before pulling away in the fourth outscoring Arizona Western 18-13.

Harris along with Davielis Berroa scored 11 points while Alynna Palacios grabbed seven rebounds in the loss.

The Lady Matadors are back in action on Saturday, February 24, hosting Eastern Arizona in an ACCAC matchup at 2:00 pm at the House Gymnasium.
