Three in double-figures in Women's Basketball's 68-44 win over Phoenix

The Arizona Western Lady Matadors Women's Basketball team (5-3, 1-0) opened its ACCAC schedule on the road on Tuesday night with a 68-44 win over Phoenix (1-7, 0-2) inside the Bear's Den thanks to a fast start.

Dyvine Harris led the Lady Matadors with 16 points while hitting four three-pointers to help the Lady Matadors win their third consecutive game.

Arizona Western scored 24 of its 68 points in the first quarter as Davielis Berroa scored all eight of her points in the first quarter.

The Lady Matadors held the Bears to 10 points in the second quarter to take a 41-24 lead into the locker room for halftime. Arizona Western produced its best defensive quarter in the third, allowing just nine points while outscoring the Bears 16-9.

Fatima Katembo finished the game as the Lady Matadors' second-leading scorer, scoring 11 points while Chenai Mushore also ended the game in double-figures with 10.

The Lady Matadors return home on Wednesday, December 6, hosting Chandler-Gilbert at 5:30 pm at the House Gymnasium. Tickets are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for seniors while Arizona Western College students and employees get free admission with AWC ID.
