
The Glendale Community College men's basketball team opened up the second round of conference play on Wednesday night, defeating South Mountain Community College 85-57. The win moves the Gauchos to 12-5 overall, and 4-3 in ACCAC play. The Gauchos currently sit in 3rd place in the ACCAC with 11 games left to play.
Sophomore Chase Pavey (Sunrise Mountain) led the way for Glendale with 20 points, on 7-of-11 from the field to go along with 6 rebounds. Pavey finished with 5 made 3-point field goals for the game. Sophomores Davis Hester (Liberty) and Jordan Kuac (Ironwood) each added 16 points for the Gauchos, with freshman Kenny White (St. Mary's) adding 13 points and 6 rebounds. Redshirt freshman Ty Gibbs (Shadow Ridge) finished with 8 points and led the Gauchos in assists with 9. The Gauchos as a team had 21 assists on 32 made field goals while shooting 47% from the field, 48% from beyond the arc and 72% from the free throw line.
Glendale Community College men's basketball will return to action next Wednesday, January 22nd, when they host Mesa Community College. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
