YUMA, Ariz. – Arizona Western Women's Soccer (1-1) suffered its defeat of the season, falling 2-1 to Western Wyoming (3-0) on Friday afternoon at Ken Lindley Field at the Roughrider Showcase.

Western Wyoming opened the scoring in the 23^rd minute taking a 1-0 lead before the Lady Matadors equalized in the 41^st minute on Ashly Martinez's third goal of the season.

The game remained level until the 84^th minute when the Mustangs put in the game-winning goal. Lady Matadors' keeper Tindra Bierdemann made a pair of saves in the loss.

The Lady Matadors return to action on Saturday, September 2, hosting Chandler-Gilbert at 4:30 pm at Matador Soccer Field. Tickets are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for seniors while Arizona Western College students get in free with their AWC ID.
