Marmolejos scores 22 points in Matadors' 69-55 loss to Western Wyoming

YUMA, Ariz. – The Arizona Western Matadors Men's Basketball team (4-1) suffered its first defeat of the season, falling 69-55 to Western Wyoming (3-2) despite a 22-point effort from AJ Marmolejos on Friday night in North Las Vegas, Nev.

Marmolejos scored 22 points on 6-for-9 shooting well hitting 10 free throws in 13 attempts in the loss. The Matadors outscored the Mustangs 34-31 in the first half before being held to 21 points in the second half.

Both Jannoy Thomas and Matija Gledic scored eight points to finish as the Matadors' second-leading scorer while LJ Glover came off the bench and scored six points while grabbing six rebounds, matching Gledic for the team lead.

The Matadors are back in action on Saturday, November 18, taking on the host College of Southern Nevada at 4:00 pm MST in North Las Vegas.
