Men's Soccer earns 2-0 win over Mt. San Antonio

YUMA, Ariz. – Arizona Western Men's Soccer (3-0-1) bounced back from a draw to earn a 2-0 win over Mt. San Antonio College (0-1) on Friday evening in North Las Vegas, Nev., at Cheyenne Sports Complex.

Mario Ramirez tallied the game-winning goal, opening the scoring with his second goal of the season to give the Matadors a 1-0 lead in the 39th minute.

Simon Curtis Llorens scored his second goal of the season in the 70th minute to take away any doubt, bumping the Matadors' advantage to 2-0.

Martin Sanchez got the start between the sticks for the Matadors and helped keep the Mounties off the scoreboard as the Matadors recorded their second shutout of the season.

The Matadors return home for their home opener and ACCAC opener on Saturday, September 2, hosting Chandler-Gilbert at 7:00 p.m. at Matador Soccer Field. Tickets are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for seniors while Arizona Western College students get in free with their AWC ID.
