Women's Basketball edged by Midland 73-68

The Arizona Western Lady Matadors Women's Basketball team (2-2) fell 73-68 to Midland (2-2) on the second day of the Midland Classic Tip-Off Classic at the Chaparral Center in the Midland, Texas on Friday evening.

Dyvine Harris led all scorers with a game-high 19 points while hitting three three-pointers in the Lady Matadors' loss while Alliance Ndiba recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

After being outscored 16-13 in the first quarter, the Lady Matadors had their best offensive quarter of the game, scoring 22 points in the second quarter, and taking a 35-34 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Fatima Katembo scored 14 points to finish as the Lady Matadors' second-leading scorer, shooting 7-for-8 from the field.

The Lady Matadors were outscored 19-14 in the third quarter and were unable to recover, losing 73-68 to the host Chaparrals.

Arizona Western is back in action on Saturday, November 11, taking on Dodge City on the final day of the Midland College Tip-Off Classic at Noon.
