Men’s Soccer settles for 2-2 draw with Southern Nevada

PHOENIX, Ariz. - Rezhis Koxhaj scored his second goal of the season but Arizona Western Men's Soccer (2-0-1) couldn't hold a late lead, settling for a 2-2 draw with Southern Nevada (1-0-2) on Thursday night at Cheyenne Sports Complex.

Koxhaj opened the scoring in the 8th minute, finishing off a pass from Paolo Grizzetti to give the Matadors a 1-0 lead. 

After Southern Nevada leveled the match in the 40th minute, Asaki Nakamura put the Matadors back in front with his first goal of the season two minutes later. 

The Matadors remained in the lead until Southern Nevada leveled the match in the 84th minute.

Both Matadors' keepers Lazar Baltic and Martin Sanchez recorded two saves in the draw.

The Matadors remain in North Las Vegas, Nev., to take on Mt. San Antonio College on Saturday, August 25, at 7:00 pm at Cheyenne Sports Complex.
