MCC Women's Soccer improved their record to 2-0 (2-0 ACCAC) on Tuesday night as their offense exploded in their 8-2 victory over Gateway.
Mesa got the scoring started early as Mia Abad scored in the second minute off a Hailey Hough assist. Hough would stay involved throughout the game as she got in on the scoring putting one past the keeper in the 23rd, 55th, and 62nd minute.
Teammate Brylee Allen matched Hough's output as she scored in the 11th, 15th, and 50th minute.
Both Allen and Hough earned a hat trick in the contest, a feat head coach Drew Guarneri said he hasnt had happen yet at MCC. Gateway would add a goal in the 50th and 72nd minute, but the T-Birds would put the exclamation point on the contest in the 75th minute as Wendolin Gaona-Guajardo scored to push their advantage to, 8-2.
It seemed as if everyone was involved in helping their teammates put one on the board as Bridget Graves, Karen Reyes, Iris Gonzalez, Grace Otero, Rebecca Guendulain, and Hailey Hough earned an assist.
With her four goals on the season Hough now leads DII schools in goals scored thus far. Allen is tied for second with three after her career night.
It will be a quick turnaround for Mesa as they will be at home again on Saturday night hosting Glendale.
