MEN’S SOCCER

#8 Arizona Western – The Matadors split their first two games of the season, losing the season-opener 1-0 on the road at Mt. San Antonio College before shutting out Fullerton College 2-0 the next day.

#2 Phoenix – The Bears stayed put at No. 2 thanks to a pair of shutout wins over Paradise Valley and Scottsdale before tying with Mt. San Antonio College 2-2 to start the season 2-0-1.

#4 Pima – Moved up a spot in the rankings after a perfect 4-0 start to the season, with road wins over Scottsdale, Chandler-Gilbert, and Mesa as well as a home win over Paradise Valley.

#15 Mesa – The Thunderbirds started the season 2-0 with wins over Chandler-Gilbert and GateWay by a combined scoreline of 8-2 but have lost back-to-back games, losing to both Glendale and Pima.

#18 Glendale – The Gauchos find themselves in the top 20 after starting the season a perfect 4-0 with wins over GateWay, South Mountain, Mesa, and Scottsdale while scoring 16 goals through the first four games.

#7 Arizona Western – The Matadors dropped two spots after having a week off following their season-opening 17-0 win over Imperial Valley.

#13 Eastern Arizona – The Gila Monsters have won their first four games of the season, starting the year with a 16-0 win over Trinidad State before beating nationally ranked Laramie County.

#3 Phoenix – Jumped a spot in the poll after winning back-to-back games, starting the season 2-0-1. The Bears tied with Johnson County before beating Paradise Valley and Scottsdale.

#12 Scottsdale – The Fighting Artichokes started the season with a 3-3 draw with Johnson County but have lost back-to-back games.

#15 Mesa – The Thunderbirds are 2-1 to start the season, beating Chandler-Gilbert 1-0 before an 8-2 win over GateWay. Mesa is coming off its first loss of the season to Glendale last time out.

#12 Eastern Arizona – The Gila Monsters started the season 8-2 with wins over Odessa and Weatherford. Eastern has won three straight games with a win over conference foe Yavapai.

#6 Scottsdale – The Fighting Artichokes dropped to No. 6 after suffering a 3-2 season-opening loss to Mesa. Since that loss, Scottsdale has rattled off four consecutive wins to start the season 4-1.

#16 Mesa – The Thunderbirds climbed up the rankings after beating Scottsdale to open the season and winning 3-2 over South Mountain before sweeping Benedictine JV.

#18 Glendale – The Gauchos are 4-0 to open the year with wins over Pima, Highland, Treasure Valley, and Williston State, winning the last matches in straight sets.
