Ten ACCAC teams recognized in latest NJCAA poll

DI Volleyball

Arizona Western stayed at No. 16 in this week’s poll after picking up a pair of wins last week. The Lady Matadors opened the week with a 3-0 win over Central Arizona at home on Wednesday before heading on the road on Friday, beating Eastern Arizona in straight sets 3-0 to stay undefeated in ACCAC play.

DII Volleyball

Scottsdale remained at No. 2 in the latest NJCAA poll thanks to a week that included three wins. The Fighting Artichokes picked up a non-conference win earlier in the week, beating Park-Gilbert 3-0 on Tuesday before sweeping Phoenix 3-0 in ACCAC play on Wednesday. Scottsdale finished the week by outlasting Chandler-Gilbert 3-2 on Friday in Chandler.

Chandler-Gilbert moved up one spot to No. 15 after winning three of the four matches they played last week. The Coyotes opened the week with a 3-0 sweep of Eastern Arizona on Monday before returning home for three matches. After falling in five sets to Scottsdale, the Coyotes beat Pima 3-0 and Mesa 3-1 on Saturday in the Chandler-Gilbert Invitational.

DI Women’s Soccer

Arizona Western stayed at No. 9 in this week’s poll after not playing last week. The Lady Matadors are at Yavapai on Tuesday before returning home to host Scottsdale on Saturday.

DII Women’s Soccer

Phoenix checked in at No. 2 in this week’s Top-20, winning twice this past week, and scoring a total of 15 goals. The Bears opened the week with a 13-0 win over Paradise Valley at home on Tuesday before going on the road and picking up a 2-1 win over Eastern Arizona on Saturday, scoring two goals in the second half to come back and win.

Scottsdale moved up one spot to No. 10 thanks to an 8-0 win at Mesa on Saturday. The Fighting Artichokes extended their winning streak to four games and recorded their fourth consecutive shutout in the only game they played last week.

DI Men’s Soccer

Arizona Western stayed at No. 2 in this week’s poll after not playing last week. The Matadors are at Yavapai on Tuesday before returning home to host Scottsdale on Saturday.

DII Men’s Soccer

Phoenix stayed put at No. 2 in the latest poll after remaining unbeaten with a pair of wins last week. Phoenix started the week by finishing off a suspended game with Chandler-Gilbert, earning a 7-1 win on Tuesday before finishing the week with a 3-0 win at Eastern Arizona on Saturday.

Pima moved up a spot to No. 3 after winning their lone game last week. The Aztecs earned a 6-0 win over Chandler-Gilbert on Saturday and have now won six games in a row, allowing just one goal during the winning streak.

Mesa dropped six spots to No. 14 after settling for a 1-1 draw with Scottsdale in their lone game of the week on Saturday. Mesa has drawn four of their last five matches and has a seven-game unbeaten streak.
