Seven named to United Soccer Coaches All-American Teams

Rikako Hayami – Arizona Western

Hayami was named an NJCAA Second Team All-American, scoring four goals and recording an assist while being part of a backline that tallied 13 shutouts, the third most in the nation. Hayami was part of a team that reached the NJCAA DI Women's Soccer Championships for the second time in program history.

Chloe Corral – Phoenix

Corral played in 20 games for the Bears this past spring and scored 15 goals while recording four assists and was named an NJCAA First Team All-American. Corral led the Bears to the semifinals of the NJCAA DII Women’s Soccer Championships and scored a goal in the Bears’ tournament-opening win over CCBC Essex.

Diane Gonzalez – Phoenix

The midfielder assisted on 18 goals for the Phoenix Bears this past fall and started all 20 games played in for the Region I champions. Gonzalez scored four goals, three of which were game-winning goals in route to being named an NJCAA First Team All-American. Gonzalez picked up an assist in the first game of the NJCAA DII Women’s Soccer Championship against CCBC Essex.

Eiji Hata – Phoenix

Hata led the Bears to a National Runner-Up finish at the NJCAA DII Men’s Soccer Championship in Tucson after playing in 19 games and making 18 starts this past fall. Hata scored a goal and recorded five assists and was an NJCAA First Team All-American. Hata was part of a backline that allowed just three goals in postseason play.

Kaito Nakayama – Phoenix

Like Hata, Nakayama was a key piece to the Bears’ National Runner-Up finish, playing in 19 games and scoring six goals while tallying six assists. Nakayama had a pair of two-assist games including a game against Paradise Valley where Nakayama scored a goal back on September 9.

D’Andre Pickett – Pima

Pickett was an NJCAA First Team All-American after playing in 16 games for the Aztecs as a freshman this year, scoring a goal and recording four assists. The defender scored a goal and recorded two assists in a win over Paradise Valley and started both of the Aztecs’ games at the NJCAA DII Men’s Soccer Championships.

Brandon Sanchez - Pima

Just like his teammate Pickett, Sanchez enjoyed a breakout freshman season, scoring seven goals and collecting four assists. Sanchez played in 17 games and made 16 starts for the Aztecs and scored a game-winning goal against South Mountain on October 17.
